Winter Sunrise on Gallows Hill - Three views
When winter returned to Gallows Hill I at last had the opportunity to shoot the sunrise over the snow covered landscape. This first shot was taken as clouds began to roll in and the beautiful morning light was fading fast. It was taken from the road just opposite the entrance to Lisanoure Castle and cropped to a panorama. (One of the advantages of the D800 is that it allows crops like this while retaining plenty of pixels.)
Earlier I had climbed the hill and took this second shot looking north over the White Lake at Lisanoure. I loved the snow faced tree trunks against the delicate blue of the sky and the strong reds of the last remaining beech leaves close to the ground.
