Maggie's Cottage, Antrim Hills

Maggie's Cottage, Antrim Hills

This tiny long abandoned cottage is to be found high up in the Antrim hills, near the village of Cargan and not far from Glenariff. I call it "Maggie's Cottage" after the lady who lived there. Indeed it was there that she passed away, being found by neighbours, with her devoted dog beside her. Snow has been quite rare in recent years so on the one morning it actually snowed last winter I headed out to make this photo. It was still snowing, which whited out the background and helped me place the focus on the cottage.
