The Dark Hedges by moonlight

The Dark Hedges by moonlight

The Dark Hedges is a dramatic 'tree tunnel' of ancient beech trees, which can be found on a narrow country road near the village of Stranocum. It is now internationally famous, thanks to featuring in the HBO series, Game of Thrones. It has also featured in a number of major landscape photography competitions. Due to its great popularity it has become much more difficult to photograph. One tactic is to wait until after midnight! On the night of a full moon I used a fisheye lens to exaggerate the dramatic shape of one of the trees and enhance the sense of it reaching for the stars.
