Dark Hedges Sunset

Dark Hedges Sunset

The Dark Hedges is a dramatic 'tree tunnel' of ancient beech trees, which can be found on a narrow country road near the village of Stranocum. It is now internationally famous, thanks to featuring in the HBO series, Game of Thrones. It has also featured in a number of major landscape photography competitions. It is extremely popular, making it often very difficult to get a 'clean' photo. On this occasion my timing was fortunate and it allowed me to photograph from the opposite direction to the normal portrayal so that I could capture the setting sun through the trees.
